Otherwise, bad news: The Wick And off ...
you're done, issue 13 The Wick, on sale since Friday, December 10 and available until Thursday 23 will be the last. Despite your constant support, the newspaper did not managed to strike a balance and, after a decent start (between 15 000 and 20 000 copies sold for the number 1, we never managed to have a truly reliable figure), the newsstand sales have rapidly decreased below 10 000 to stabilize around 6000 copies, which is very inadequate. Result: there came to pay the printing and mailing to subscribers, and that's it. No premises, no compensation for designers and journalists, no salary for permanent. A possible situation for a time, but unsustainable on a weekly, we imposed a rhythm preventing us from having other income-generating activities in parallel. The attempt to space out the release with a number 12 remained on newsstands two weeks, did not yield results, so we had to resolve to quit. Some speak to us now to go on the internet to find financial support ... These are perhaps the slopes, they are currently quite speculative. You will obviously know if they were to be realized. Thank you anyway for your enthusiasm, we could measure on Facebook, for your emails, your letters and during demonstrations against pension reform. Thank you for purchasing the newspaper and have been around you know, thank you for Magazines restive harassed or distracted. A special thank you to customers, almost 500 anyway, who trusted us, sometimes even before the publication of Issue 1! We will make the accounts to determine whether it is possible to repay the money received on subscriptions as a proportion of the numbers sent. Customers may contact us about this on contact@lameche.org. It is a sad end but the adventure has been wonderful. Our designers, some of our columnists have their blog, work for other newspapers that are worth visiting. You can at least find them. Soon, we all hope.
