War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y'all

War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives

War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives

I said, war, huh
Good God, y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It's an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y'all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it's got one friend
That's the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can't give life
It can only take it away

Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's got to be a better way

Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it

War, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing

War EDWIN STARR

War,
What's the point? Absolutely nothing to

Say again

War, I despise Because it means

destruction of innocent lives

War is
tears To the eyes of thousands of mothers
When their son will fight
And they killed

War is a heartbreaker
War is the friend of the dead
undertaker War is the enemy of humanity
The goal of any war is a mystery to me
War has destabilized the younger generation Induction then destruction
: Who wants to die?

The war has shattered the dreams of many young people
making them disabled, bitter and nasty
Life is too short and precious To spend
to fight these days
War can not give
life It can only prevail

Peace, love and understanding
Why is there no place for it today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom But Lord knows
that there must be a better way

The British group Tindersticks cancels his tour in Israel!

2010 should be declared "Year of the cultural boycott of apartheid Israel." After the actors Meg Ryan and Dustin Hoffman, director Mike Leigh, authors Henning Mankell, Iain Banks and Alice Walker, the musicians Carlos Santana, Devendra Banhart, Tommy Sands, Elvis Costello, Gil Scott-Heron, Annie Lennox and groups The Klaxons, Gorillaz, The Pixies, Leftfield, Faithless and Massive Attack, Tindersticks is now surrendering to visit Israel!

An excerpt from their statement: "We thought that the music we do is beyond politics. In recent weeks, the pressure exerted on us by people and organizations close to us, showed us this is not the case. It is difficult to challenge a growing movement that we endorse the goals, even if we're not entirely convinced by their methods. " May

other artists realize that music, art, culture is never beyond political considerations, particularly in the Palestinian context ...

And here is one of their songs "apolitical", called Dying Slowly , whose title recalls even when the fate of Gaza, with the beautiful voice of Stuart Staples ...

Mahmoud Ahmed
(Sète, August 5, 2008)

Alemayehu Eshete
(Sète, August 5, 2008)

Wednesday November 17, 2010

After israel ( http://www.protection-palestine.org/spip.php?article9394 ), France ( http://www.lesinrocks.com/actualite/actu-article/t / 51630/date/2010-10-04/article/mitterrand-intervient-pour-eviter-lexpulsion-de-rappeurs-congolais / and http://next.liberation.fr/musique/01012301110-cheikh-lo- al-water ) and now the USA, migration policies ultrasécuritaires PREVENT musicians to sing! Now it

Mahmoud Ahmed, the biggest star of Ethiopian music, which is blocked in the U.S. and France canceled its concert, or rather replaced by that of Alemayehu Eshete (my favorite!): -------------------------

New business visa!

Mahmoud Ahmed cancels all his French tour which was to begin in late November: he will not be as expected Theatre Gerard Philipe in Saint Denis on December 10. The reason: Mahmoud Ahmed lives in the United States for three years with a renewable residence permit and he is going dobtenir the famous final green card. To do this, it should not leave the country and wait, just to prove his love to the star-spangled banner! He has a valid Schengen visa to enter France, but neither his manager Francis Falceto nor himself cared navaient danticiper the problem. And as American ladministration didn't the habit of joking, our singer does not want to move to Washington and our manager went improvident be forgotten in Ethiopia. The concert will take place, however, and Mahmoud Ahmed Africolor to be replaced. Not the last of the Ethiopian singers, but by a star. The Band which was to accompany Badume Mahmoud Ahmed Alèmayèhu Eshèté and play with a guest, Selamnesh (Friday, December 10 at Saint-Denis TGP):

Alèmayèhu Eshèté is one of the voices of the legendary "Swinging Addis", cooing on ballads or marshmallows tearing on rocks fever. His references are called Little Richard, Nat King Cole, Pat Boone or Elvis-obviously-. Graying hair but still impeccably toothed, that old teen loves to vary her age at the option of interviews, varying the gap between Western and Ethiopian calendars (7 years apart). He was born in 1941 in Djamm, city of the province of Wello. From humble beginnings, the young man must face the wrath father when he starts hanging out and singing in night clubs red light districts. It is said that his father sometimes hurtling along in the middle of a set, and brought home by the skin of the back. At age 20, Alemayehu Eshete was noticed by a colonel who enlists in the famous Police Orchestra. At that time, only the institutional formations were entitled to perform in public and the Police Orchestra was one of the most famous band (with The Orchestra of the Imperial Guard). Alèmayèhu is also an author and composer and his songs speak of family conflict, filial piety and virtue of work. But the singer was hated by the older generations who saw him as a supporter of the degradation of the walls, blinded by the accents of rock music.

Selamnesh Zemene belongs to the nomadic community Azmari of Gonder region in the highlands 750 kilometers from Addis Ababa. Ethiopian singers and musicians with our own bards, Azmaris often occur in bars called azmaribet. These artists are known for their sedentary improvisational skills, able to laugh as to criticize the government. We discovered last lannée and it was the revelation dAfricolor. Since she sing Addis Ababa with a song that goes jingle and cest a joy to find it: it will overshadow the aging star dazzled by the American dream.

Below the original lyrics and a translation in French ...
----------------------------------
Is not It A Pity George Harrison

Isn 't it a pity
Now, is not it a shame How we break
Each Other's Hearts And because
Each Other How we take bread
Each Other's love Without thinking anymore

Forgetting to give-back Is not it a pity

Some Things take so long Purpose
how do I explain When not too
many people
Can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity

Isn't it a pity
Isn't is a shame
How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain
How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore
Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity

Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity
Forgetting to give back
Now, isn't it a pity
-------------------------------------
N'EST-CE PAS DOMMAGE
George Harrison

N'est-ce pas dommage
N'est-ce pas une honte
Comment we break the heart with each other And we're undergoing any
each other
How we love each other
Without thinking
Forgetting to give back Is not

Some damage things take so long
But how can I explain
When not too many people
Who can see we're all the same
And because with all their tears Their eyes can
hope to see the beauty
around them
Is it not a pity
